On Saturday 19th August 2023 GEM were invited as special guests at Ilkeston One Voice Concert.
It was held in the evening at St Mary's Church in the town square. and was the closing concert for the 2023 summer arts festival organised by Ilkeston Community Theatre.
There were several groups and artists including soloists, Sandiacre Male Voice Choir, Michael house singers, Ruby Tuesday and Gem Connection.
As we walked on for the for our first set the church was buzzing with an appreciative audience. We sang a mixture of our repertoire songs including the polecat 'Bohemium Rhpsody' before finishing in the beautiful 'Bridge over troubled water'.
After watching the gorgeous Ruby Tuesday open the second half, we went back stage to warm up for our 'Cabaret' set, which is always a crowd pleaser.
